We have created this watering container as a very good solution to all the issues we have faced with other watering containers. Here are the benefits to our watering feeder:

* Easy to refill

* Resistant to tipping

* Keeps water clean

* Can be hung on chicken tractor or in coop

* Slows growth of algae

* 6 gallon capacity to reduce refilling

* Air hole on top for suction control

We created this watering feeder because we had used many other popular watering set ups, but there were downsides to all the others:

We have found that the watering containers with the screw on lids often got knocked over by the chickens so then the water drains out and we have to refill it sooner. And often the water tray would get really dirty. Plus when we moved our tractors, the containers would sometimes get caught under the sides and get bent out of shape so then it was hard to screw the lids back on. And the largest size we could find those in was about a gallon, which was not enough since we have a lot of chickens.

We tried switching to the 4 gallon clear buckets with the cups/nipples but the plastic was really thin and would break easily. And because the plastic was so clear, algae would grow really fast and we had to clean them out all the time. We did like how they held more water, and how they could hang from the sides of the coops/tractors so when we moved them we didn't have to worry about them being dragged along and get bent up. These were also REALLY expensive.

We have tried various other watering containers, but again, all seem to have issues. Some of them come with a pointed top but the chickens always seem to knock it off and then the water gets dirty inside the container.

So this is our answer to all the above issues. We have been using these for a while now to test if these solve the issues we have found, and so far we love these. We hope you will, too!
